Born in the Terai of Nepal, Resham left his village when he was 13 years old to make the long journey to Kathmandu in search of a job. He made the 3 day journey by foot and by truck on primitive dirt roads. Upon arriving in Kathmandu he was recruited by a rafting company to be a bucket bailer on the rafts that ran down the raging glacial rivers of Nepal. From there he worked as a cook for Overland Encounters all over southwest Asia, became a porter for trekkers in remote areas of Nepal, worked his way up to a trekking guide, and eventually founded his own Trekking Company, Trek Nepal International.
After the earthquake, Resham was determined to give back to his country to help those in dire need. He distributed food, building materials, clothes and blankets to areas affected by the quake. Shortly after founding Elevate Nepal, Dan and Anthony recruited Resham to be their partner and in-country coordinator. With his drive to give back to Nepal and willingness to never back down from a challenge, he has a been a key part of making Elevate Nepal a success.
